Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao

WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (39-4, 36 KO) and Manny Pacquiao (59-7-2, 39 KO) squared off for the welterweight title Saturday July 14th, 2018 where we witnessed Pac Man show us yet again why he will go down as one of boxings G.O.A.T.

Pacquiao started fighting at 108 lbs and moved up to 154 lbs winning titles in 8 divisions, truly a great accomplishment. He has exhibited astonishing speed and power while putting on weight, usually one of the two suffer as you pack on the pounds. Not to mention as you age.

Former WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (39-4, 36 KO) is no push over with a record of 39 wins with 36 KOs there is a reason why he was the champ. Impressive speed and power with great ring presences Matthysse as taken boxing by storm. Although it looked last night that he had been mentally defeated by Pacquiao before entering the ring. He looked slow and apprehensive while Pac Man looked sharp and on point with his jab. Pacquiao scored a KO against Matthysse to become the new WBA welterweight champion.

Manny Pacquiao has had some of the biggest battles in the ring with Marquez, Barrera and Cotto to mention just a few. The fight against Mayweather well, Mayweather is one of TBE and will make the most elite fighter look like a novice with his defensive style. Although against Cotto my country men Pacquiao did not skip a beat and dominated the fight almost from start to finish.

All in all I am extremely happy for Pacquiao and his fans it is vindication for his last few fights. I really like Pac Man not only for his in the ring accomplishments but also for his off the ring activities, from his family life to his involvement with politics and his dedication to his faith.

Congrats Pac Man!!
